Termite Extermination Montreal: Protect Your Home Today

While termites are less common in Montreal than in warmer climates, they do exist in Quebec and can cause significant structural damage if left untreated. Eastern subterranean termites have been found in several Montreal-area properties, making awareness and prevention essential. ExtermExpress provides professional termite inspection and extermination in Montreal.

Are Termites Really in Montreal?

Yes. Eastern subterranean termites (Reticulitermes flavipes) have been documented in the Greater Montreal area. While our cold winters slow their activity, heated buildings provide year-round warmth that allows colonies to survive and grow. Climate change is also expanding their range northward.

Signs of Termite Activity

• Mud tubes on foundation walls (pencil-width tunnels)
• Hollow-sounding wood when tapped
• Discarded wings near windows or doors (spring swarmers)
• Damaged or crumbling wood, especially near soil contact
• Bubbling or peeling paint on wood surfaces
